Health Plan Navigator Online Information

New for 1999/2000, the Health Plan Navigator (HPN) is an online health care plan information resource. It is designed to provide those who are selecting a health care plan some information needed to make a more informed choice. HPN can be used year-round to do things like search for a physician, find a hospital (it will even draw a map for you), or provide a health plan benefit comparison chart.

Some of HPN's main functions:

• Online Directories—Provides the name, address, and other background information on the physicians and hospitals that participate with health care plans.
• Benefit Comparison—Contains charts comparing the benefits for the health plans being offered.
• Quality Assessment—Provides several community-based measures of health care quality.
• Consumer Information—Includes definitions of common health care plan terms and answers to some frequently asked questions.
• Plan Links—Provides a direct link to participating plan Web site.

HPN is provided to you by the UAW and Ford in conjunction with the Health Information Action Group (HIAG) of the Greater Detroit Area Health Council. The information on this site is provided by HPN for your convenience. You should carefully review all plan documents before making any benefit decisions.
